IceCast/ShoutCast or Music Player Daemon? The project that Linsday linked to may also do this but I have no personal experience with it.
People got rid of devfs for -MUCH- worse excuses than ditching ESD. I think ESD should remain in the repo for those who may ABSOLUTELY need but it's not supported by any means anymore. So why should we? I quite honestly don't like being forced to have an old deprecated piece of software installed for a couple libs I enjoy using.
