I'm trying to get mplayer to play an audio cd of mine, but it
doesn't work, running it as root gives the following output:

mplayer cdda://track

Even when using 'cdda://1', for example, it still gives the same
output(except for the 'must be an integer' error). Also, when attempting
this as a normal user, I get the following:

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Linux RTC init error in ioctl (rtc_irqp_set 1024): Permission denied
Try adding "echo 1024 > /proc/sys/dev/rtc/max-user-freq" to your system
startup scripts.
Playing cdda://1.
Can't open cdda device
Failed to open cdda://1

Exiting... (End of file) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Is there something wrong with my computer config? How do I get this working? Thanks, ravster.
