Hello, I've been running Arch Linux 0.7 now for about 3 weeks, and it will soon be replacing RedHat 9 on my 3 other machines.
Unfortunately I have run into a situation where I don't know how to proceed. I have just synced the ncurses package with the "pacman -S ncurses" command and I received an error along with the rest of the normal output: ------------------------------8<---------------------------- Targets: ncurses-5.4-2 Total Package Size: 1.5 MB Proceed with upgrade? [Y/n] :: Retrieving packages from current... ncurses-5.4-2 [################] 100% 1570K 302.9K/s 00:00:05 checking package integrity... done. loading package data... done. checking for file conflicts... done. sh: error while loading shared libraries: libncurses.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory upgrading ncurses... done. ------------------------------8<---------------------------- Now I am unsure whether the ncurses package has actually been installed correctly or not. I searched for an option to pacman that would verify the files of an installed package, but found none. Is there any way to ensure that the files on my system match those that were delivered in the package I (theoretically) installed? Thanks for your help, -don- --
