Konqueror definitely does seem to recognize the server, and prompts me for a
username and password, but the uname/pwd is never accepted and the prompt just
re-appears. This definitely did work properly for me in 3.3. And I'm able to
access the share with no problem when I use the samba smbclient from the
command line.
I'm not sure if this is a problem with the Arch build of the KDE packages or
if it's upstream.
Anyone else seeing the same thing and/or have any
ideas/suggestions/workarounds for this?
It may or may not be relevant, btw, but I actually did not do the upgrade as
recommended (by removing and then installing KDE). As I indicated before, I
did a "pacman -Syu" which upgraded but broke KDE, followed by a "pacman -S
kde" and answering yes to all the re-install questions. I realize that's not
the recommended approach, but I have to say that I've not had any problems
with anything on 3.4 until now, so I've been working on the assumption that
the upgrade worked correctly. I'll go the delete/re-install route if I have
to, but I was hoping that someone could check and see if this is a bug on
other people's systems as well, which if so could save me some time and
hassle.
Thanks,
DR

I, too, am having this problem. I can see the shares, but when I click
on them and it asks me for my username and pass, it doesn't work. The
fish:// works ok though for ssh.
