do like Eric Belanger said, put:
IgnorePkg = flac
in your pacman.conf file

I did: pacman -Sd mpd, and when I rebooted I couldn't use mpd nor xmms.

I had to downgrade my flac also with:
pacman -U /var/cache/pacman/pkg/flac-1.1.1-2.pkg.tar.gz
