Hello cactus,
I have read your proposal and your categories list. I'll start by
saying I dunno what Dennis was on about - he suggested simpler,
reproduced the same table the started on with alsorts of really specific
stuff. Crazy. Some of his arguement was somewhat defeated by the idea
of search buttons anyway, clever things those search buttons! Apologies
to Dennis.
The category outline looks fine to me - it seems to cover everything.
The current category list is hardly conclusive at the moment and we
don't seem to have too much trouble there so it certainly looks
absolutely fine for starters.

A graphical representation of the categories and how they tie in
sounds like a good plan. Thanks for all the hard work cactus!
As for the catergorization, aye, really can't avoid a little overlap.
Maybe seperate it in the sense of software-drivers, software-system,
and software-application ?

There is of course, some overlap in the categories, but that is hard to
avoid (hardware or the software then works with the hardware?). Much of
the information was taken from the existing wiki structure.
Once more finalized, I will endeavor to create a graphical tree model
representation of the base category heirarchy. This will hopefully ease
the classification of documents during the migration, and provide a
guidepost for new documents, as to where they might best fit in.

Bender: It was horrible! A nightmare!
Fry: What happened?
Bender: I dreamt I was in a place of 0's and 1's and all of a sudden...
I saw a two *whimper*
Fry: It's ok Bender, don't worry. There's no such thing as 2's.
