One might consider something that uses a Ralink chipset (rt2x00).
They have released open source drivers, and there is a nice project
at
http://rt2x00.serialmonkey.com/wiki/index.php/Main_Page . It also
has a list of hardware with the chipset. It is one of the few
reliable selections one can make for 802.11g at the moment, since
prism54 based chipsets are difficult to come by. Since the company
supports open source, I'm sure support will continue for a while.
There is an issue with SMP (which is on the stock Arch kernel) at the
moment. The new rewrite of the drivers will address the issue. I am
using a pci card with a rt2500 chipset and it works beautifully.
Hope I was helpful....
