Hi Lin,

I have a Compaq Presario 2100 laptop, and I need to add "acpi=off" too with
this new kernel, if not, it would just load it until these lines appear:

    ide0: BM-DMA at 0x8080-0x8087, BIOS settings: hda:DMA, hdb:pio
    ide1: BM-DMA at 0x8088-0x808f, BIOS settings: hdc:pio, hdd:pio

and then it would freeze.

This is the first time I need to deactivate acpi in an ARCH kernel :S.

Oscar
