for gtk2 apps, that's exactly how it should work :D happy to hear you have 
success! (for x11 apps or qt/kde apps, it's more tricky - qt4 should 
supply qt-immodule and for kde skim is on the way)

wow - cool! thanx ... but hey, i'm only the package maintainer. the 
authors of anthy, scim and scim-anthy did the big job! ;-)

how popular are the other japanese input methods? (skk, canna, ...) do you 
think that somebody would miss one of these?
