i'm sure there would be a possibility to build a $pkgname-doc without building the $pkgname first. having the $pkgname installed on your system as dependency should be enough. (downloading the whole source is maybe needed) i don't know what was decided. from own experience, i know that if you don't use a pkg, you don't want to be a maintainer of it - sooner or later it would need your attention and then you are in trouble having to take care of it. personally i would hate to have qt docs in the qt pkg itself. there is nothing against a qt-doc pkg, except the open question who is going to maintain it. question to you: did you input a wish @ bugs.archlinux.org about a qt-doc pkg? this would be the best way to make maintainers know that this is needed. (most probably the qt maintainer would add a qt-doc pkg if this is really needed by the mayority of users) ... and we are also lucky having the new AUR now ;-) greetings, Damir PS http://doc.trolltech.com/ -- "If you put butter and salt on it, it tastes like salty butter." -- Popcorn comes to the Discworld (Terry Pratchett, Moving Pictures)
