yep, i highly respect linux-live and im an old slax fan too. 
Archie started before they switched to sqaushfs and unionfs (i originally 
thought of adopting linux-live to Arch, but then decided to make a complete 
Arch oriented project with better pacman support and iso customization to my 
likings), but obviously things have changed and they using unionfs too now.

regarding the slax-kde iso, i can only guess he's applied the kde patches, but 
thats only a guess. i should take another look at the latest unionfs 
snapshots (they release all as patches) maybe the kde patch had been 
integrated already. you could do the same :)
