I've never liked complicated automounters too. I've been using submount mostly but I'm going to move everything to pure udev rules. Submount is easy and it worked well for me but udev is more powerfull and more in the spirit of KISS. Exept the time when they change it 5 times in a month :-) For now udev seems quite stable and it has everything that is needed. If you want to try submount I'd suggest recompiling it using ABS because it depends on the kernel version. It's easy and quick. You'll find the PKGBUILD and example fstab entries in the forums. I'm was using it for my cd/dvd burner and external IDE harddisk connected via IDE to USB connector. For udev just go and read wiki + search forums for examples and links to howtos. -- Rafal Szczepaniak (Lanrat) _______________________________________________ arch mailing list [email protected] http://www.archlinux.org/mailman/listinfo/arch
