Hi, I seem to have the same problem like Daniel (Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>) a while ago.
Starting kde 3.4 there is just a base menu; no additional packages. Starting 'kcontrol' I get: node1] ~ > kcontrol kbuildsycoca running... kcontrol: WARNING: No K menu group with X-KDE-BaseGroup=settings found ! Defaulting to Set and there are no settings to make. When I try to adjust the settings in konqueror, I just see an empty window!? I did try to reinstall the whole 'kde' package, rebooted, removed the kde-files in /tmp and /var/tmp and in my home directory. The strange thing: it works as root without any problems, so it should be a permission problem, but I don't figure it out. Maybe, you guys have an idea!? Greetings!
