It's been much said bout Pacman, so far, lots of requests lots bugs and lots of "bugs"... And it's been discussed often enough how and why Archlinux handles documentation.
It's not so much an issue of pacman, makepkg, or anything else, but it's Arch's mission statement. Arch claims be a small, slim and fast distro, that fits on one CD - and in the very same mission-statment, Judd decided on howto achieve those his aims.
We're currently going thru a lot of trouble/changes... If we look at testing the hopefully supposed to be soon enough 0.8 <insert codename> which will be even more slim, and fast considering the libtool-slay action.
I do not want to say things like "maybe arch is not for you" or such.. I just want you [ALL] to think, what Arch is about.
