Thanks for the input guys. I've already come up against the restarted
daemon scenario, eliott, so I may look at your '!' suggestion as well.
My particular requirement would work with that, as both of the
manually-started daemons are known in advance i.e. I have pre-cognition,
as you put it, Jason.
