nothing actually. i used in earlier mkliveiso testings (0.2) initrd with 
gensplash and built the initrd myself (see mkliveiso for howto). i copied the 
theme and /sbin/splash_helper to the initrd manually and set on the kernel 
cmdline "theme:<themename>".

however, iirc, the problem with that were gensplash not responding to F2 
(verbose mode) only after rc.sysinit started, which might not be a problem 
for Arch users but it is for Archie (initrd is also used for debugging). 

another issue with using initrd with gensplash (again, iirc...) was something 
in the progress bar... i think i had problems syncing between progress on the 
initrd and after init (rc.sysinit) starts...
