You're right. That was precisely the problem. In fact, I had duplicate entries for everyone of my partitions (i.e., /, /boot, swap). Also, I have experienced this problem every time I installed Arch. I must be doing something wrong. Now I know what the problem is and how to fix it. I would still like to know why it's occurring in the first place. I really suspect that I'm doing something wrong during the install. If anyone knows what it is, I'd love to hear it.
