Indeed. Installed packages are stored in /var/cache/pacman/pkg
To revert a package (assuming of course that you haven't cleaned it
from your cache) you just have to issue a command like

pacman -U /var/cache/pacman/pkg/package-to-revert.12.3-4.pkg.tar.gz

I think that managing two basically the same installations is a big
hassle, but maybe it is just me ;-)
Be sure to have a common /var/cache/pacman to avoid double downloading,
too.
