Thanks for the warning. I admit I don't understand what exactly those
options do.

I've not knowingly enabled translucency or anything which requires or
uses Composite and RenderAccel, so I'm assuming it's enabled but not
in use. It seems to help my problem with gtk2 apps fonts. It could be
that my problem is due to the nvidia drivers - I would appreciate any
suggestions to pin-point the cause of the problem (nvidia, gtk, xorg)
so that I can report a bug if necessary.

I'm not pretending to be running composite extension - I was changing
my settings simply out of curiosity while trying to fix the font
problem. As I said I've not been running with these settings for long,
and I know other users have reported crashes while using RenderAccel
etc during prolonged usage.

Thank you for the warning. If I have time I'll research this problem a
bit more, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
