Ok, sure. I have read these docs. At step 10: "From the Device drop-down list, click hp:/usb/[printer name, serial number]. For example, "hp:/usb/hp_deskjet_5600?serial=MY31R1K02179" I don't have this. I have: "hp: no device found" along with the usual PP, usb, serial etc options. but when I add the printer as regular old PP printer it is found, and as I said, sits there saying "idle, waiting for connections" So why can't HP software find their own printer? -d > iphitus - ArchCK Maintainer, Arch Trusted User. > Home:iphitus.loudas.com > > _______________________________________________ > arch mailing list > [email protected] > http://www.archlinux.org/mailman/listinfo/arch -- darren kirby :: Part of the problem since 1976 :: http://badcomputer.org "...the number of UNIX installations has grown to 10, with more expected..." - Dennis Ritchie and Ken Thompson, June 1972
