Hey. I'm wondering if anyone has had these two problems with the new
udev release?

1. In KDE my media icons no longer show when something is inserted,
say a DVD-R, and so I'm forced to go to console to do my mount/umount
instead of using the GUI.

2. My APC unit is not working properly. It reports starting properly
on bootup but it won't shut down properly and I cannot apcaccess it.
Here are some relevant log entries when shutting down the system:

apcupsd.events :
Cannot find UPS device --
Sun Jan 08 18:21:21 EST 2006 apcupsd error shutdown completed
Sun Jan 08 18:35:14 EST 2006 apcupsd FATAL ERROR in linux-usb.c at line 597

daemon.log :
Jan 8 18:35:14 myhost apcupsd[1786]: apcupsd FATAL ERROR in
linux-usb.c at line 597 Cannot find UPS device
Jan 8 18:35:14 myhost apcupsd[1786]: apcupsd error shutdown completed

After downgrading to udev-068-5, both problems went away. The new
hal-0.5.5.1-5 didn't help with fixing problem 1 by the way, but it
didn't hurt matters either.

Any ideas?
