Even though I don't "Technically" use hotplug, I still follow the wiki to a T. My camera uses PTP connection and this works great with Digikam. As an update to my last post, I was able to install ivtv from source just buy putting the firmware files in /lib/firmware. That seems to be the standard locations for them and it still works without having to hack hotplug. Thanks!!!
