It is supported by kernel. It works in gnomemeeting and nearly works in kopete 
(v4l2 support isn't still finished there). Once I was talking to the driver's 
author and he says everything is ok from his point of view, application 
developers are those who need to support the protocol correctly....

Here's the dmesg output:
