My guess is the other programs are probably experiencing the same problem.
I'm too chicken to play with MythTV, but you may have some success with knoppmyth, ( http://mysettopbox.tv/index.html) it seems some people are having success with this and very little tweaking.

common apps to work; like tvtime, kdetv, xawtv or anything. They all complain
about the output of /dev/video0 or other issues. Tvtime says ivtv:invalid
argument.
I cant even get MythTV to work (Using the wiki) due to some missing lib file
(mythtv-setup: error while loading shared libraries: libI810XvMC.so.1) which
I cant find anyware.
Also, I cant recompile MythTV because of a ton of missing perl files or
something along those lines.
Sheesh, all I want to do is watch TV at my desktop without having to issue a
ton of CLI commands to change channels.
Does ANYONE have ANY idea how I can accomplish this?
