Hello,

Yes, Jason, the html documentation is much more detailed and comprehensive.

Aaron, try help ( "if" ) ... Heres what i got,
>>> help ( "if" )

Sorry, topic and keyword documentation is not available because the Python
HTML documentation files could not be found.  If you have installed them,
please set the environment variable PYTHONDOCS to indicate their location.

Looking from the Misc folder in usr/share/doc/python-24.1 in slackware, it provides only the corresponding vimrc and python-mode for vim and emacs respectively. I dont think we need sepatate packages for that, do we ? :)

Jason, so the issue of space jut does not arise. Those are just small text files in kb's :) And yes, the main reason for wanting the docs is offline development. India is yet to experience the benefits of all time on fast internet. :(

Also, reading help ( "string" ), I see no reference url to html documentation. I dont know how to get vim to refer to python docs when pressed K in a python file. A person on irc had done it, i will ask him and post here :)

Regards,
Rohan.
