I installed 0.7.1 on a new box I built (Tyan K8WE motherboard with dual
2.8GHz Opterons, 2GB of RAM, and a pair of 7800GTX's). Other than a
minor problem with Grub, (had to install it by hand) everything went
fine. When I booted the system, the disk controller was not found. The
install kernel on the 0.7.1 CD found the controller, but the installed
kernel did not (including the -full.img). If I boot the CD, and use
vmlinuz root=/dev/hde5, I can boot into the system, however, I can't
install any modules as they are invalid format (different kernels, I
guess). So, any ideas?

The controller is a NetCell 5-port with 3 74GB Raptors in a RAID 3. The
NetCell is driver-less, as of about 2.6.14, when it's ID was added to
the generic IDE driver. Windows XP64 is installed on one of the
partitions on the RAID, and Grub boots it without problems. This is
going to be my new main workstation (it will only run Winbloze a few
hours a week for games).

From the install kernel boot messages:

etc...

None of the above appears when booting the installed kernel.

Installed from Sony DVD drive connected as Master on the motherboards
only IDE connector.

Thank you, in advance, for any help.
