The changes did affect me -- but not badly. Only the mouse and sound was not working by default. Can someone please tell why modules=(!xxx) and mod_blacklist=(xxx) were made similar in nature ? ! goes with the nature of rc.conf -- ignore the module. This specifically tells it to *not* load it. Strange ..
Also, can someone offer a technical explanation why sound cards fail to work if Oss emulation is enabled in modprobe.conf ? I find it strange that the two must interfere with each other.
