I thought it rather strange too!  At first I assumed that it was just
a rubbish card reader, but when I then got a second reader and had the
same problem, it got me thinking...

Ok, thanks, I'll go and have a hunt.  I must admit I hadn't searched
the BBS before posting as the search engine wasn't working yesterday.
