I have had similar issues with the Arch Nvidia drivers, so I always update mine manually as well. Another piece of info I found out about Cedega and games is to change the preemption to the middle option (Voluntary Preemption) and to use the Deadline scheduler. Weird as it may seem, I don't get any skipping in Half Life 2 based games any more. As a side benefit, other, native games don't studder when they load a level initially. For instance, when I would play UT2004 online, or Red Orchestra, on initial map load and joining a game, I would studder horribly until the map was cached. Now, with the Deadline and preemption settings, I don't notice any studdering at all. Even the desktop performance is smooth as silk; with Xgl also. Just something to try if you have some time :) Joe _______________________________________________ arch mailing list [email protected] http://www.archlinux.org/mailman/listinfo/arch
