Kubuntu has KDE Improvements installed by default, you can find it on www.kde-apps.org, the rounded selection as well. Look in most downloaded :P

It can be disabled later on (atleast in kubuntu, debian) so I dont see why arch cant apply that patch.. But yes, its real  slow and "draggy" on my p3 550mhz 56mb ram.
