Funny you should mention that -  a recent Supreme Court challenge found 
that our potato legislation was unconstitutional, so we're now allowed 
eat turnips and carrots, as well!

Naturally, that influence will always be there, but it is diminishing. 
In fact, the current trend in Irish bleeding-edge social commentary is 
to portray money and the pursuit of it as our new religion - banks are 
the new cathedrals, ATMs are altars, etc, etc.

Well, it's not only a tried and tested approach to life, but also 
another contributory factor in our economic success - after a landmark 
copyright ruling, where we successfully demonstrated prior art, Ireland 
now owns MTV!
