scim needs qt-immodule in the qt library to work in KDE applications.
the qt pkg in official repo does not have it, because it needs to be
patched to enable this and then all dependencies need to be rebuild.
as qt4 has qt-immodule enabled per default, we are waiting for qt4
unfortunately.

as a workaround, you can use a gtk or x11 application to write your
text and then copy it to a kde application. i know it's not really
the best thing, but at the moment we do not have a better option for
kde apps.
