Please give us some more information about your computer, it's like asking "Hey my 1337 toaster doesn't work anymore, how do I fix it kthx?". Usually it ends up "oh wait I forgot to plug it in..."
Your SATA controller is probably not supported or you haven't loaded the right module. Remember that SATA drives are "seen" as SCSI drives, so the first SATA disk will be sda.
