Hi everyone,

I just bought an Apple Cinema Display (30inch),and I need to know how to
get vesafb-tng to play nicely so that I don't see garbled text in the
boot process. I use LILO.

My current settings in lilo are:

append="video=vesafb:ypan,[EMAIL PROTECTED]"

(Note:2560x1600 is native. [EMAIL PROTECTED] worked fine on my old CRT)

But this setting just gives me some scrambled text after I make the
selection at the bootloader. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Supported modes are listed in /proc/fb0/modes

Hmm..supported modes like 1600x1200-16 still produced the same scrambled text. I switched back to regular vesafb with the option vga=785 and things seem ok now. On an unrelated note, drawing of windows in X seems to be a slightly sluggish compared to my old monitor.. I havent changed the xorg.conf much (I've only removed horz Sync and vert sync which was meant for my CRT). Are there any other lines I have to add for a TFT?I have a geforce 7800gtx(non sli) on an amd athlon fx-55, so I'm quite sure my specs should be able to handle this monitor.

Thanks again.
