I tried renaming each of those files to fonts.conf.bak and then reloaded  
Opera. Still no dates in the Sent column in email or newgoups. I also have  
no date in the fancy header of any messages being viewed. The Opera  
mail/newsgroups client on Arch simply fails to detect any dates attached  
to messages.
