Ok, I'm back pursuing the issue of getting my Netgear MA111 USB ethernet dongle to work.  I am now running the current version of Arch and  I have resolved some issues with my Netgear MR814v2 rouuter.  I have run independent tests using an old Zaurus handheld that I happen to have to verify the wireless integrity of the router.  It is working just fine.  The prism2_usb module loads just fine.  The problem seems to be that there is no wlan0 interface so when I try to use wlanctl-ng to set up the device I get no-such-device complaints.  Any suggestions?  Thanks for any input.
