Ok, I upgraded to testing. All harddisk partitions appear in "media:/" , but
my root filesystem appears unmounted! The more important issue now is this:
I have two optical drives - a dvd combo drive(hdc), and dvd writer(hdd). All
media I put to hdd shows up fine. But for "hdc", most stuff doesnt show up in
media:/ or a popup in kde. So far, the popup came only for an audio cd, and
no other type of media. (no notification or entry in media:/ for data dvd,
data cd, or vcd). This behaviour was present even before i upgraded to
testing. So to me, it still seems like an issue with hal 0.5.8.
What do you recommend ? downgrade to 0.5.7 and live happily everafter or you
got some patches for me? :)
