Well, so it seems that your motherboard's acpi implementation is
broken with linux... I was googling for this last night and found some
links telling basically this: if you have problems with acpi, disble
it and wait until it is well supported by ACPI-Linux project

Don't think it will solve the problem. It is related with ACPI
support. Maybe I am wrong, but you said that with debian it works
fine. Maybe they use the right ACPI patch for your laptop. Really
needs more research about it.
