Well, so it seems that your motherboard's acpi implementation is broken with linux... I was googling for this last night and found some links telling basically this: if you have problems with acpi, disble it and wait until it is well supported by ACPI-Linux project (http://sourceforge.net/projects/acpi/) > > I could try to use a older version of alsa.
