Yep I know it, half of my family is Catholic the other half is all over the 
map,  Christian, Jewish, Protestant and Buddhist.

I had the bad luck to say Merry Christmas to a few friends in my work place ( 
i am currently working in the US ) and it blew up lol, so i know what you 
mean.

So I just tell them Merry Santa Day and they love it.
