hi all, i have added another font to the [extra] repository: the
ttf-tibetan-machine font. it covers all chars to be usefull for Tibetan, Dzongkha and Ladakhi... and most of Sanskrit. if you want to test, the pkg scim-m17n contains a method for scim to input tibetan. use abiword, set the font to tibetan machine unicode and enjoy! one small warning on the side: konqueror seems to have problems using this font ... i was not yet able to figure out why (or confirm that it's because of this font) but when this pkg is installed, konqueror hangs when trying to open sites that contain chars in this unicode region... e.g. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tibetan_script firefox (bon echo) works fine... it may be a QT or KDE specific problem. you have been warned. like always, i'm open to any other suggestion regarding any freely available/distributable fonts that covers a wider unicode charspace than we have with the fonts available in arch repos now. greetings, Damir -- By and large, the only skill the alchemists of Ankh-Morpork had discovered so far was the ability to turn gold into less gold.
