Hmm, Nforce2 board, that chipset is famous about its crappy memory compatibility sometimes. Combined with an Abit board, I suspect it is running at tweaked specs. Also take a look at the capacitors on your mainboard, the nforce2 chipset is from a time where abit used bad caps on their mainboards. In your situation I would force the memory to run at DDR333 instead of DDR400, which is in sync with the FSB for your CPU.
