I use Evolution on another distribution because I didn't want to compile Thunderbird if I didn't have to (didn't want to use a precompiled binary just because).
I really like Evolution, but I have had difficulty getting the junk mail filters to work as well with Evolution. This has always worked easily for my with Thunderbird.
