Just so you know, this is Archlinux mailinglist, its not debian related
at all. And therefore shouldnt be used as a help forum for debian. If
you have a Archlinux specific question you're more then welcome to send
them to the mailinglist.
But ill give you a tip anyway,

This error means you have no mouse device where Xorg thinks there is
one, and this one confirms it

check /etc/X11/xorg.conf and look under "Section InputDevice" then set
the correct /dev device and the correct mouse driver, im guessing since
the msg said synaptics touchpad it should say "Driver "synaptics"". If
that doesnt work find out what the input device is named and then change
it in "Section ServerLayout". Otherwise just google for "howto synaptics
xorg" or something like that and you'll find loads of examples howto
make it work. Hope it helps
