I have run into the same problem with the new msmtp. According to their
change log, requiring the tls_trust_file is a new change designed to
make the default behavior more secure. Their documentation says that
debian has a package for the tls_cert_file "ca-cert", IIRC.

I have been unable to generate/obtain a trust file myself and have
disabled the cert check temporarily until I can figure out a solution.

I started a thread on the bbs,
http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=32049 but have gotten no
responses, so I'm also interested in a solution.

Pete
