mlterm might actually work since it has scim (experimental support) and
is based on gtk2.

I would also appreciate some more input on why Terminal is dying sionce
it seems the preferred application for the user here. Xfce4 was updated
to 4.4 about a month ago but we laso had gtk updates, so it's kinda hard
to guess where the issue comes from.
