I'm not a dev but from my view it doesn't make sense that because if the devs don't use reiser4 than they can't guarantee that it runs stable. A filesystem is too important to include only the patch and see if it compiles. And making own tests costs very much time. Don't missunderstood me, it would be nice to have reiser4 in the core kernel but not earlier than the vanilla have it. There be two worst case scenarios for a distribution: First you can't boot and second you loose data. So me personally can understand that the devs don't want to intergrate reiser4 at this moment.
