Oh, I forgot to mention that I know the entire libtool discussion - I'm with 
ArchLinux since March 2003.

What intrigued me was that default says one thing, and the actual value from 
the default file is another thing.

I would suggest either changing the comment or changing the actual value to 
avoid this inconsistency.
