Hi, all.
There is a patch 'dump the core of a VM'.
http://gerrit.ovirt.org/#/c/7329/
And this is the wiki page. http://www.ovirt.org/Features/vm_coredump
I think the feature will be useful when used with high availability
VDSM users can dump core of their VMs manually, when the find the VMs
crash or they receive a watchdog event report.
thanks for the ping.
why not sent to arch mailing list for review/comments on the feature
page?
some thoughts (better replied on a thread on arch mailing list)
I'm assuming limited to admins, not users.
Yes, agree.
how dumps gets collected from host? cleaned to not use all space? is
space checked before dumping? how is path of dump determined (maybe
should be dumped to the export domain rather than to host, though more
complex)
IMHO, to an export domain is better to host.
for the dumps API, the file name must be assigned. It can be a nfs path.
