Greetings Rainer. Thanks for your input. It's appreciated and extremely valuable to get outside ideas. You are absolutely right, we need to update the Roadmap and that's on our to-do list. Right now we are about to make several adjustments to Arches, which should be completed within a few weeks. If you take a look at the Issues list on bitbucket, anything that now has a v.1.1.0 milestone will be worked on, including functionality to easily upload images and other digital files and link them to resources; the ability to describe threats and disturbances and record management recommendations; the ability to export in csv and kml from advanced search; and an upgrade to Django 1.6.
In addition to that, we have begun work customizing Arches for the City of LA to publish and manage their city-wide survey data, which should be available online to the public by the end of the year. During that effort, several packages will be developed including major updates to Advanced Search. All the customizations will, of course, be made available to the open-source community. It would be of interest to know which of the Roadmap items are the most relevant for you. Thanks, and please keep the ideas coming!!
