Hello Alexei and all, Slightly long story but here goes: I've just been told by my current web hosts that they are shutting their data centre so I've got to move my whole server - ouch!
Anyway that gives an opportunity to move to something more in line with being able to run Arches in future. So I'm considering a server with Ubuntu 12.04 LTS I would like software RAID 1 mirroring setup for stability. I've enquired with one big web hosting company they say that RAID on Ubuntu is 'a nightmare' and they wouldn't support it (they don't here) http://www.fasthosts.co.uk/dedicated-servers/linux-servers/e530-linux/ So to cut a long story short, I thought I'd make you aware of this as RAID is pretty important in a production environment. I've done a bit of searching around and I'm quite put off with what I read. So it looks like I'm stuck with CentOS. I don't suppose anyone is working on an install script for CentOS? :) Otherwise it's something I will look into as I do my setup Thanks again Andy -- -- To post, send email to [email protected].
